Came home tonight to find bloodstains on the carpet, bird poo and panicking blackbird on the windowsill. Sobered up quickly, sorted the mess out and went upstairs to check on the cats. Both pretending they didn't know what the fuss was about, yet definitely looking sheepish. First bird for us, we've had mice (lots), frogs, worms and moths, but hadn't yet had a bird. Hope the cats don't progress to anything larger. The mind boggles.
It's his cat by the by, who brings in the difficult items. My cat is an angel and brings in moths, but does have the decency to eat them. Crunchily. I say that she is a woman of loose morals though. When she wishes to have your attention, she flops onto the floor, has a big streach to show you her fluffy tummy then wiggles around on her back. Here's a photo of her looking cosily tucked up in the duvet.
